Memorandum of Agreement with the Earl of Carlisle
January 26th 1891
Memorandum
of Agreement made this 26th day of January 1891 between the Earl of
Carlisle of the one part, and the Brampton Angling Association of the other
part.
The said Earl of Carlisle agrees to let, and the said Brampton Angling Association agrees to take all those portions of the River Irthing and its tributaries herein mentioned, being: -
The River Irthing
The River King
The River Cambeck
The River Gelt
The Earl of Carlisle reserves to himself a right to fish in the portions of the rivers herein referred to, and a right to give permission to his friends to fish in the said portions of the river.
The
Rent to be the sum of One Shilling per annum to be paid half yearly on the
twelfth day of May and the eleventh day of November.
The
tenancy to cease on either party giving to the other six months notice in
writing.
The
Northern portion of the Nook farm having been sold to the occupying tenant Mr.
Geo Bell – together with the rights to fish on the North side of that portion
of the river Irthing that bounds the lands purchased – the fishing to be
transferred to Mr. Bell is excluded from this Agreement.
